LITTLE DID SHE KNOW....

When a room is filled with darkness, a ray of light also appears to be bright. When our life is filled with sorrow and depression, just a word or pat from our beloved one gives us a lot of hope. The calendar reads, March 19, 2020, exactly fifty-three days, a small issue took my life into a depth of darkness, where even a ray can't enter. I was on my bed, in shorts. My face was filled with unevenly grown beard resembling old villains of Indian cinema. My eyes are red, lack of sleep they say. I had a good physique, but no strength in heart. My body is weak like a ninety year old one, my hands are shivering, no idea on what to do.  Left nothing in my hand, feel to die so that I can come over this pain. But all of a sudden, a message “shall we meet” from the one who has a special place in my life brought a change. I was excited. I became energetic from a ninety-year-old to the massive hulk. A glow on my face, a thick bundle of rays beating the darkness was my view. I know where to meet and haven’t replied as she told the time. I get shaved, took a bath, selected her favorite dress and stepped out of my room

                                      LITTLE DID SHE KNOW….

Misunderstandings are  always common in a friendship and us to have now and then, but this one was different. It took fifty-three days between us to initiate a talk, simply we involved ourselves in a cold war and the war came to end when she texted me. To completely end up the fight, I stopped my car at a pet store and went to purchase a rabbit, she loves them and it acts like an excuse, a gift to cement our friendship. I went to the shop and bought a rabbit, a small one. I just want to surprise her with a presence she dies for. I taught many things, taking her to lunch, spending time with her, going to a movie, and then dinner. OnmywayI just lost in thoughts how we used to spend time and havefun, gossipping and ending with fights abusing eachother.

As soon as I reached the spot, I was awestruck to see her already waiting for me. This made me the happiest man on the earth for the time being. I forgot to take the rabbit, as I lost myself looking at her. Both of us waved each other. Seeing her after a long time, it was great. The girl in a red dress, with shaped eyebrows, matching wristwatch, and a handbag a feast to watch. She greeted me, entered the park, and sat at the bench we regularly chat.

She initiated and I am listening to her, her voice the lovely one to hear always asked, “So, how's life going?  I just said “going with the flow! What about you?” I asked. “Nothing much”, she said. We then had a lot of talks and then sought out our fight. “I must tell you something really important”, she said all of a sudden. “You are most welcome to say anything my dear”, I said. I observed something unusual in her face. “Go on now, please don't increase the curiosity in me. You know better about my curiosity levels right!” I said. “Okay!”  she sighed.  “I think I'm in love with Jho”, she said making an ugly face out of shy .” I didn't know what to say. I was left speechless. Silence prevailed between us for some time. Before making the situation awkward, I congratulated her on my cold heartbreaking silence. That brought a smile upon her face. “It's been a few days since I've realized this”, she said.  For the first time I had to act normal being abnormal towards her. “Did you speak your heart out?” I asked. “No, not yet. I ain't understanding how he would be taking this if I just speak out”, she said. “That doesn't matter, confessing is more important”, I said. She stood up and said, "I must be leaving now". She waved and she left.

I stood there for some time, and the memories surrounded me. The one whom I thought everything of mine, thinks I am nothing. No tears from my eyes, as they don’t want to be wasted for a person who doesn’t care for it. I left the park.

On my way back, I heard a tiny voice disturbing me. It was a rabbit I bought for her. I lost my love, but the sign of my love stayed with me.

LITTLE DID SHE KNOW, I also came to meet my love and confess,

LITTLE DID SHE KNOW, how desperate I was to be her love,

LITTLE DID SHE KNOW, she broke my heart,

 Thought to myself.
